Stromberg Carlson Candlestick Telephone w/ N500CG Wooden Subset Bell Box

This telephone and subset are in very good condition. The case of the subset has a beautiful smooth matte finish, with very few blemishes or scratches. The Northern Electric branding is stamped into the front of the case, and gives the subset a sharp look. The metal parts of the subset have nice metal parts, with very little tarnishing. The magneto also cranks and rings the bells as intended. The candlestick unit shows a bit more wear than the subset. The finish of the phone appears to be mostly original, however, the base appears to have been repainted after becoming pitted from corrosion. The parts which should be nickel plated have not been refinished and much of the plating has worn from age, exposing the brass underneath. The transmitter is a reproduction Bulldog transmitter, seated in a stamped Northern Electric transmitter mount. The receiver also appears to be a reproduction, and the cord is a rubber coated cord, instead of a cloth one as it would be originally. The switch hook functions as intended, and both the candlestick and subset appear to be intact internally. This is an antique item, so some age wear is to be expected.
