Description

Electrical Goods Mfg. Co. Boston – 8 Line “Bi-Une” Wooden Wall Intercom Telephone

This is an intercom unit produced by the Electrical Goods Mfg. Co in Boston, MA. EGM was known as Electric Gas Lighting Co. or EGL prior to its rebranding in 1904. This intercom unit is in good original condition with a worn finish on both the case and the metal parts. The finish of the case has faded, but the wood is still in good condition, with only a few paint markings. The bells, transmitter faceplate, line buttons, and switch hook have significantly tarnished with age, but have no corrosion damage. The receiver is a SOLID stamped receiver, however some of the stamped cap has broken away, and the receiver has some paint marking on it as well. There are two small chips in the transmitter cup, but it is the original inside threaded cup. The switch hook functions as intended and the phone does appear to be intact mechanically, though some of the connections have deteriorated with age. This is an antique item, and has not been refurbished, so some age wear is to be expected.

The item is untested and being sold as is.
