Description

Edison Home Phonograph Model B – Antique Phonograph – w/Horn and Model C Repro.

This phonograph is in good original condition, though it is in need of some restoration. The case is in good shape, with no damage to the lid, and no shoddy repairs. There is a split in the base plate, but no sections are missing and it could probably be glued back together. The banner decal is still intact with very little wear. There are paint markings and other blemishes on the lid. The mechanics of the unit are intact, however the lower pulley has been replaced with a reproduction. The original pulley is included, but it is cracked through in several spots and appears to have been repair with epoxy. The unit cranks and the mandrel spins as intended, however it does not have enough power to spin with the reproducer lowered onto a cylinder. The horn is in good shape, with no splits and only minor corrosion and denting. The serial number stamped into the patent plate reads “H72321”. This unit is an excellent candidate for a restoration, as it has no major flaws, just requires some overall touching up. This is an antique item, and has not been refurbished, so some age wear is to be expected.
