Antique Steel Compact Wall Mount Rotary Dial Telephone – Refinished

This wall telephone is in good condition, as it has been refinished. The case has been repainted to have a consistent satin black finish. It appears that there was some corrosion present on the case prior to being refinished, as there is pitting under the dial, and in the top left near the switch hook. There is also a dent in the backing plate in the top left corner. The backplate has some deeper pitting that was also painted over. The handset appears to be a reproduction based on the WE E2 and AE Type 38 handsets. The dial is an Automatic Electric that spins and re-centers as intended. The finger wheel is very nice, though the dial card insert is missing. There is some minor corrosion on the dial plate, and slight fading of the numbering. The switch hook functions as intended, and the inside of the phone appears to be intact internally, however, some components have been painted over where corrosion occurred. This is an antique item, and has not been refurbished, so some age wear is to be expected.
